Anybody got the Apple i-phone 5. Well I got one recently, and after a prompting from my provider,I upgraded to i07. I'd also bought a car charger and a piggy back battery phone case. Both are now useless because they were not Apple approved products, and the Apple boffins have cleverly put an inbuilt block in the new upgrade on non Apple equipment.

Don't upgrade to i07 until they've ironed out the glitches. Latest is that there's a problem with text messages failing to send. Apple are on the case and a fix update will be issued shortly.

I've heard lots of people moaning - personally I'd never get an Apple product just because of non-compatibility issues, think I'm gonna get a Galaxy Note in a few months when my upgrade is due...

Don't get me wrong, the Apple i-phone's a great phone. I like the free face time to other i-phones,and recently used it to video call my daughter whilst on holiday.

Another weakness on the i-phone 5 is the glass screen. Most people tend to get an open case cover, which doesn't protect the fragile front screen. My wife had one such type, and pulled the phone out of her pocket the other day and found the screen glass was broken. Apparently it's not an easy thing to change and you need special tools. Apple store in didn't want to know, and wanted to charge for a new phone in exchange.Although I had phone insurance through the bank, there was £100 excess for any claim, and the phone needed to be posted on for repair. I ended up going to the Pakistani phone stall in the market, and they renewed it for £90,it took all of 5 mins. There was a guy in front of me with the same phone who'd just broken his screen as well,so it's not just an isolated incident. Belatedly my wife has now got a flip cover. Looking on the internet, there are a lot of complaints about the weak glass screen, and many breakages,so Apple need to take some responsibility for a potential flaw in their product.
